Hope you are well. Today you'll be able to read an interview that I did with the lead singer of Last Chance City, Max Cowley. Learn how the band formed, what their style of music is and what the lead singer's favourite album is. Down below will be a music video for you to check out as well as their social medias for you to go and follow them. Here are all the questions and the answers:
How did you guys meet one another?
Originally Connah (drummer) and I (vocals) met through another person introducing me to the band. The band initially didn't have a vocalist so I was asked to sing and I met Connah then. When one of our guitarists left, Stafford then joined the band to take over, which is similar for Edan who did the same about six months later. We all knew each other through our music college/university Platform One and met in this way too.
How was the band name created?
The name was an original idea that came through an original member who is not with the band any more. It was a name of a song, but we collectively decided it worked better as a band name.
How would you describe the music that your band creates?
Our music is a combination of punk, rock and indie. We keep our music upbeat so people can move when watching at live shows and can bop when listening on the bus.
What are some of the themes and messages that come across in your songs?
Our lyrical discourse is very political. Political in the manor of anti-war. This is not only used in our lyrics but portrayed on our second EP 'Five Tracks Later' on the case with messages inside and outside the case. We are not activists, but like to raise awareness of the wrongs of war in our lyrics.
What are your plans for 2015?
For the rest of the summer we are performing at a few festivals. But for the remainder of 2015 we have a couple of new recordings in the works which shall be released in that time. Are aims are to expand our online fan base in preparation for 2016, where we have big things to come!
Where can people find you on social media?
Our main two sources for online media is Facebook and Twitter. Where all updates on upcoming gigs, tours, songs etc will be announced regularly. We are on nearly all social media outlets if other media are preferred though.
If there was an album that you could listen to for the rest of your life which one would you choose and why?
I'm 100% sure this would be different for all the other guys, as their taste will most likely be much heavier but for me I'm obsessed with Foals. I adore everything about their music from their guitar tones to their creative song structures and for me their first EP/album Antidotes is an album I could listen to forever.
