Story Online Interview

Hey guys. I hope you've had a great end to the week of your week and beginning of your weekend. Today you can learn about Sheffield's 5 piece pop-punk band and find out more about them:

How did you guys meet one another?

From school Chris and Matt have always jammed together and through social media we found our first vocalist Tom. As a three piece we were seeking another guitarist to play alongside Matt. Through advertising Liam came along for the ride. Chris was currently recording an indie band when he came across singer Bill Hobson. Bill looking for a new punchy project, Chris invited him down to the prac room, tom went on bass and so story began.
How was the band name created?
The band’s name originated from the shared goal of wanting to tell our stories through music and that a message can be more powerful accompanied by music. We felt that story just summed up the whole idea and that this can relate to anyone's story.
How would you describe the music your band creates?
The great thing about our band is the mixed genres we listen to as individuals, from indie to rock, from metal to Justin Bieber. This enables us to craft our own sound using many different influences. As a whole we list our selves as ‘Rock’ however we have a punch of metal and a twist of pop.
What are some of the themes and messages that come across in your songs?
Mostly the themes and messages we try and deliver through hopeless but hoping are quite self-explanatory. The title says it all. There are times that are hard in life, and sometimes we feel like we'll never be able to recover. But there is always light at the end of the tunnel and no matter what, life will lead us in a direction of hope. Our songs reflect how after no matter what, heart break, fall outs, self-doubt, mental/physical pain, or any other sort of hurt that someone may feel due to outcome of life, hoping is the only thing that will keep us high as without it, we are nothing.
What are your plans for 2016?
We are really looking forward to 2016 as we are already writing new music, we are currently organising tours around the UK and we are just really looking forward to the feedback along the way.
Where can people find you on social media?
Facebook is our main hub for the band but people can also follow us on….
Finally, if there was only one album you could listen to for the rest of your life which one would you choose and why?
 Bill Hobson (Vocalist)…
Catfish And The Bottlemen - The Balcony.
Every single song is incredible; I love van's lyrical writing style regarding what he sings about and how he goes about it. Not to mention his voice, he's so unique and talented it's unreal. They're such an underrated band, which is another reason why I love them! But honestly I could listen to that album constantly because every song demonstrates how modern music has evolved as I feel the creation of their own sound is revolutionary. The album is perfect and I can't wait for the new one.

Thanks to Lauren from Inception Press for sending me the band through and thanks to the band for answering the questions. If there are any other bands that would like to be featured on this blog please email me at rachelcolley@msn.com and I'll send you the questions. Again, thanks to the band for the answers.

Hope you enjoyed the blog post,
Rachel.
