Waiting for Hollywood Online Interview

Hey guys! Hope everything's going alright. Today we get to hear from the pop-punk band Waiting for Hollywood. Learn out more about how the band formed and what they have planned for us in the future:

How did you guys meet one another?

In 2009 Kai did a 2 week sold out tour of Brazil, playing cities like São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Marillia to name a few. This is where he met Camila, she then came back to the uk and when Kai left his last project and started Waiting For Hollywood she was a perfect fit for bass.
Daz joined after discovering him through social media site "join my band", Conor joined a little while later as he was good friends with our previous guitarist.

How was the band name created?

It was a line from one of the first songs Kai wrote, "I'm waiting for Hollywood to come back to where she belongs", originally a song about a girl who was too high strung and self absorbed to ever think of making a relationship work with this guy who tried his hardest to keep her happy, thinking it was a cool name for a band "waiting for Hollywood" was chosen.

How would you describe the music your band creates?

Upbeat Pop Punk with a little mature musicality thrown in for good measure. We strive to make music that we love listening to, music that we hope will make people happy and forget about their troubles for at least the length of the tracks :)

What are some of the themes and messages that come across in your songs?

Mostly relationship goals, the new material is very upbeat and celebrates the importance of self belief, friendship and just making the most of times and opportunities, to live life to the full and have an awesome time with the people you love the most.

What are your plans for 2016?

Finish the album, shoot a couple music videos, we're heading out on a UK tour in April and aiming to work with international promoters / pluggers to arrange a 5 city tour / promotional tour of Brazil. As well as playing many more shows throughout the year.

Where can people find you on social media?

Finally, if there was only one album you could listen to for the rest of your life which one would you choose and why?

This is a tough one to answer as we all have different musical tastes, for me anything from Blink - throughout their career they grow as writers and talk about the development of life in general, adolescence / adulthood / heartbreak etc etc, so probably anything from blink, plus its a kick ass band to listen to when you want to kick back and let go after a long day!

Thanks Dan and Kai for answering these questions. If any other bands are interested in being featured on this blog please email me at rachelcolley@msn.com and I will send you the questions. Thanks again to the band.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post,
Rachel.
