Ash of August Online Interview

Hey guys! Even though we had a sad start today, with the unfortunate passing of David Bowie, I wanted this blog to become positive which is why I'm posting yet another interview up. This time from the guys of Ash of August from the US. Take a gander and learn a little about this metal band and check their music out down below:
How did you guys meet one another?
Ben (R Guitar/Keyboard) and Matt (Bass/Growl) started a band out of higschool.  And through various line ups, genres, and songs, we finally found the group that was on the same commitment level as us, and the same direction of music that we always wanted to do.  We found Thomas (lead guitar) and Tyler (Drums) through KSL.  And Simi at the mall while he was at work.  He was a former co-frontman for a band we use to have called Moment of Glory.  And after he moved to Texas and then back to Utah, we asked him to be our frontman for the new band Ash of August.  And he accepted passionately and we were ready to go.
How was the band name created?
After we played a show in August of 2014, Ben and Matt decided we were done with the genre and direction we were at, and decided to start over.  We burned the old band own and started new.  New name, songs, genre, and band members.  So we started new from the "Ash of August" and created our first single about the origins of the band and their members called "Rise From Ashes."
How would you describe the music that your band creates?
 Hard Rock
What are some of the themes and messages that come across in your songs?
We write about experiences and issues we personally went through ourselves, or that we knew someone who has gone through it.  Anything from us as a band and the struggles we'll go through.  Or the times we've gone through before with personal struggles.
What are your plans for 2016?
We are in the process of writing our first full length album and to do more shows.
Where can people find you on social media?
We're on all major social networks. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.  And all major music stores.  iTunes, Spotify, YouTube
Finally, if there was only one album that you could listen to for the rest of your life which one would you choose and why?
Nightmare. -Avenged Sevenfold.  They incorporated a style in the album that can hit you with any emotion throughout the album.  Whether it's to get your blood going and get pumped up, to feeling the sorrows of missing someone who has passed away.  They have a variety on that album that any song in that album is enjoyable in a different way.

Thanks to the guys of Ash of August for answering these questions. If any other bands want to be featured on this blog please email me rachelcolley@msn.com and I'll message you the questions.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post,
Rachel.
