Novium Online Interview

Hey guys! What is this? My fourth interview today? I'm on a roll. Now to introduce to you a very new and upcoming band. I predict big things for them in the future. Meet them down below:

How did you guys meet one another?

Well we've always been Mates at school, but we first played music together in summer 2014, when a good friend needed a backing band for a gig. We really enjoyed it and decided to keep it going.

How was the band name created?

Well we didn't have a name for a solid 8 months, and so it was hard for gigs as obviously we didn't know what to call ourselves, but Novium was mentioned at the dinner table, and has connotations of the Latin name for our hometown Chichester, and we all liked it so it stuck.

How would you describe the music your band creates?

Sick ass tunes that only we as a band genuinely like.

What are some of the themes and messages that come across in your songs?

Well Geo our singer writes most lyrics and guitar parts and we sort of build around it, but our new addition in Sam Delaney-stone should help with writing and hopefully bring something new.

What are your plans for 2016?

Hopefully just gigs loads and then in the summer if we have enough money record an EP at Ford lane Studios as it's sick there. A-levels are Geo's priority at the moment so it's hard for him to write new stuff, but he needs to get his priorities in order and focus on things that actually matter like the band!

Where can people find you on social media?

Well here is the link to our Facebook where you can keep up to date with us -  https://m.facebook.com/noviumband/
Here is our soundcloud where you can listen to our single as well as a demo recorded in a garage in a few hours - https://m.soundcloud.com/noviumband/garage-days -
And here is our twitter - https://mobile.twitter.com/noviumband

Finally, if there was only one album you could listen to for the rest of your life which one would you choose and why?

Ooooh that's a tough one, well our music tastes differ a lot! Geo' favourite album ever is an EP called Mirage by our good friends Dutch Criminal record, check them out on spotify they're gonna hit the big time! My (Joe) favourite album is All Our Favourite Stories by Dog Is Dead, Rupert could listen to Graceland by Paul Simon forever, and Sam's album would have to be Purpose by JB, he's a very proud belieber.

Check out the band's music, as Joe stated above, on their soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/noviumband/garage-days

Thank you to Joe from Novium for getting in touch and answering the questions. If any other bands are interested in being featured on this blog please email me at rachelcolley@msn.com.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post,
Rachel.
